weekending

It was a lazy weekend filled with beautiful pastries;

Soupy and delicious bowls of ramen noodles;

And the first swim lesson of the Fall season. By Christmas, we’re hoping that K will be a swimmer!

There was also lots of knitting going on for the Handmade Market — just 2 weeks away!

What about you? How was your weekending?

long weekend postcards

A little staycation for us this long Simcoe Day weekend, including a visit to a safari.

Then a drive west to London, Ontario, where we stayed overnight — the girls really love hotel stays. I think it’s something about everyone sleeping in one room that they enjoy!

Plus, there was lots to see and play and learn at the Children’s Museum. They enjoyed the Arctic fishing interactive play the most!

Which involved a whole lot of southern barbeque!

And a day in storytale land!

How about you? What was your weekend like? Did you stay in or go out?

{weekending} dino discovery

We had a roaring good time at the Royal Ontario Museum where the feature attraction this summer is The Ultimate Dinosaur!

One of the biggest hits of the exhibit are the charcoal rubbing stations where kids transferred pictures of different dinosaurs into their activity books. The girls, especially K was on a mission to find all 6 as fast as she could.

And for loves, I’m crushing on these sporty, stripey peds by Purl Soho. I’ve got to make these before the summer is out. Hum, I wonder if I could adapt them to kid-size?

{out & about} the junction

K and I headed out early this morning to check out the Junction Flea. I’m loving the outings with just me and my big girl.

She enjoyed checking out the old toys, some of them bring me back to my childhood days and I wished my mom was more sentimental and kept some of my old things. We also enjoyed a well deserved dumpling break where K tried foie gras for the first time!

The foie was her fave. Of course my girl knows her food.
