{vintage finds} egg cups

Some of you have been asking what I picked up at the flea market last weekend, and although I wanted to buy everything, I limited myself to these pair of ceramic egg cups. The pale blue on is my fave.
They were too adorable to resist, and they are perfect to get me into the holiday knitting spirit. What you say, Christmas in July! Well, I am making plans for Fall and Holiday shows and now is the time to start designing!

We also meet a sweet designer, Little Green, who created whimsical vintage lace and leather headbands and jewellery with falling leaves design. She’s just starting out, so no web site or business cards — too bad.

K fell in love with them — yes, of course, I’m raising my girls to appreciate and support handmade — and we picked up a hair clip with dangling leaves for her. She’s worn it almost every day this week. I should take a picture of it to show you all! It’s the loveliest.

vintage finds: little one

I popped into a Church rummage sale this morning and picked up this darling little wooden chair. It’s perfect display piece to add to my craft show roaster next time, don’t you think?

Though L quickly claimed it as hers as soon as I walked into the house with it and immediately proceeded to use it for her stuffed animals. Hum…maybe it won’t be for the shows after-all.

vintage finds: sweet treats

I found this sweet treat earlier this week at my local thrift shop and knew immediately when I saw it that it was perfect for my sweet K. It has the initial TCP etched on the heart at the end of the clasp. I wonder what little girl had that before my baby.

I gave it to K this weekend as an early Valentine Day surprise. She was beyond ecstatic! One thing you should know about my girl — she’s a lover of sweets. Ice-cream, cupcakes, chocolate and cake — the more the better! She has a sweet tooth just like her mama.

I was able to find this little pendant, including the chain, for only .99 cents! Pretty sweet treat!

How about you? Have you scored any sweet deals lately?

vintage finds: silver & pearl

The past few weeks I’ve been popping into a few church bazaars in my neighborhood to discover the treasure trove of vintage jewelery being sold by the sweet old ladies in the congregation. There’s often a lot of digging through various piles, but it’s sometimes worth it. I, of course, had K in tow, so there wasn’t a lot of time to be had digging because she always wanted to move onto the next table.

I did want to show off some of the few pieces I did pick up, like this pretty silver necklace and pendant with a pink pearl nestled inside a little cage.  I love the simplicity of the design. I love the drop of rosy pink. I picked it up for $1 — I love the bargain!

How about you? What’s your best find?
