After posting about my plans to set up a playroom for the girls during my week off, I’ve made headway, but haven’t completed the task. So no reveal yet… so instead, I wanted to share my pins and my inspirations for the room.
Some ideas shared on my pinboard and other bookmarks include:
:: a children’s art gallery – rotating photos so we can change it up whenever the season or interest fades
:: a flag banner – either hand knit like this but in bright cheerful colours, or crochet flowers and stars like these.
:: a colourful rag rug
:: a play kitchen & grocery store corner
:: a reading nook
:: a central art table and chairs (I really love this yarn wrapped chair idea and this taped table top idea)
:: an alphabet wall composed of found, vintage and handmade letters. This I will construct over time as it will take some time to collect all 26 letters. If you look closely at one of the pins, using an old school ruler for the letter “I” – absolutely. love. this!
How about you? What are your secrets and tips for shared space with kids?
Halfway into 2012 and I figured I’m overdue for an update. Well, the reason it’s taken so long to update is because I’m failing. Yup, 6 months in and I can actually say I’m no where near finishing my list.
I didn’t get very far on my TFA KAL so my cardi is still a work in progress and my yoga time has declined to zero.
But with one week off this week, I am determined to set up the playroom and my studio/office at the same time. Hopefully, I will knock both of these off the list by the end of the week.
I got started this morning my sketching a plan and heading out to IKEA to see what my options could be; and pinning my inspirations. Follow me!
P.S. since I opted to go to IKEA rather than my photo walk today — I’ve got to seize the opportunity tackle my list– so I’m delaying my photo journal.
This weekend there was a little fun for me and fun for the kids. I love how that works out like that.
For me… yarn tasting at The Purl was delicious! My tasting sampler (above) looks yummy, doesn’t it? The evening makes me long for more friends that knit, though. I’m looking for a knitting group, somewhere close and meets in the evenings after the kiddos are in bed. We’ll see…
For them… fire prevention week at a local fire training facility, was lots of fun! Fire trucks, teddy bear triage, smoking buildings, free cookies and coffee! What more could we ask for in free entertainment for the littles!
Lots of fun and inspiring things online these days. Here’s some of my faves…
:: Elise’s autumn mini book is urging me to start sorting out all my digital photos and doing something with them
:: diy patchwork photo frame (via Alli) has me thinking about possibility with owl fabrics for L’s room makeover
:: and pairing it with a big stitch rug – yay!
What’s inspiring you to make something this weekend?
Happy weekend friends!
