{out & about} queen west

I spent the morning with K — just the two of us — doing a little window shopping in the city. It was fun, quiet time with her, just peering into the cute little boutiques and shops along Queen St. West (for those who know Toronto) and talking about the unique items and curiosities that we saw.

This little bookshop had the most wonderful collection of bunny themed stories and trinkets, ready for Spring and Easter, and K was enthralled.

We passed by this shop and couldn’t go any further without stopping in for a morning snack. With flavours like salty carmael and coconut maccaroon, we were in cupcake heaven. K’s pick… dark chocolate of course.
Our end destination… The Paper Place, for their big scrap bag sale. K had a fun time stuffing her little bag to the brim with scraps and ends from beautiful Japanese papers and trim. We also grabbed some sale card stock and envelopes and spent the afternoon turning our treasures into cards to be gifted with upcoming and future birthdays.

For myself, I snagged a couple of rolls of pretty mailing label tape and colourful packing tape at a great deal — perfect to pretty up my shop packages.

We had a great start to our weekend. I hope yours was just as swell!

  1. My daughter and I recently had the chance to do something very similar in our city — I think spending a day together, just window-shopping is one of the nicest things to do. It doesn’t hurt either when there’s a nice cupcake shop involved, too!
