weekending

Our Christmas countdown continues, and this weekend up went the gingerbread house! I did spot K and hubby “cleaning up” the drippy parts of the frosting and snacking on some of the candies on several occasions! (ignore the messy kitchen in the background — weekends are a bit hectic and the dishes, toys, food — you name it — don’t get put away until 10pm in the evening!)

Also, K woke up this morning and announced she wanted to be a bunny. So out came last year’s Halloween costume. While L wasn’t really into the gingerbread house, she was happy to watch and eat the bacon and pancakes we had for breakfast this morning.

So this festive weekend I’m finding inspirations in…

:: this heart-felt patch is looking for a home on my girls’ winter sweaters this year, while Miss Snow is looking for a home on my tree
:: a vintage-y pastel Christmas village
:: Canadian heritage that brings me back to my days working at the Hudson’s Bay Company

xoxo
Hope you’re having an inspired winter weekend, too, my friends!

  1. L sounds like a good eater. I loved that picture of her eating pizza and showed it to my husband and told him that she is only like 3 months older than Anna. Alas, Anna doesn’t eat bacon either and rarely eats pancakes.

    Gingerbread house…definitely something I want to do with my kids once they are older.

  2. Making gingerbread houses is a great tradition….I miss that. And I LOVE that Hudson Bay afghan. Purl Bee comes up with the best ideas, don’t they?
