hello there!

I read an awesome post over by Alli at OPB and I decided it’s time I let you guys in on a few things, too.

I’m always intrigued and delighted by the comments you make on my posts, but I, too, wonder about those that read (I know you’re there, my stats tracker tells me you are) but don’t ever make a comment.

So in the spirit invoked by Alli, I’m going to tell you 3 things about myself that you might not know.

1. I have a tattoo of a plumeria flower that I got when I was 28 the summer after our honeymoon to Hawaii. I did it without my husband knowing, actually while he was out of town. It was one of the boldest things I’ve done. I called it a surprise!

2. Ever since I started thinking about having children, I’ve wanted 3. I actually thought I would have twins the second time I got pregnant and ta-da — instant family of 5. It wasn’t totally just wishful thinking, my dad had twin sisters (they were babies and didn’t survive the Japanese invasion of China in the 1940s). I really “felt” it was in my blood. But now with K and L, I couldn’t imagine my life any other way.

3. My favorite book of all time is Gone with the Wind. I used to read it annually since I loaned it out from my high school library and finished the 1000 page novel in about 5 days. Now at 36, with 2 kids, all my reading is online via blogs!

Okay, now go ahead, make a comment, tell me a little about yourself, your blog (if you have one) or about what brought you to this page.

Happy Monday!

P.S. The cowl pictured is just off my needles and into the shop. It’s a new textured twisted pattern that I’m testing out. Tell me how you like it, at least in a comment!

  1. Beautiful photo! I love the cowl you made too. Very pretty!

I have a daughter, our middle daughter Rashelle, who just loves Gone with the Wind. My mom went to the movies to see it when it first came out at the theater! I loved Carol Burnett’s version of Scarlett O’hara when she did the “Carol Burnett Show”. A whole bunch of laughs watching that!

    Happy Day to you!

  2. That’s a great mini list! Here’s my three things…:

I have a few tattoos, the one on my back is a lotus flower that I got on my 25th birthday, 10 yrs after my first flower tattoo (on my ankle).

I also have 2 kids (a girl and a boy) and I very much wanted another but have since changed my mind. I’m just enjoying the lovely family I have right now.

My favorite book is Pride and Prejudice. I read it just about every year and have worn out my DVD of the Kierra Knightly version. I also love my copy of the BBC version with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. I have an unhealthy obsession with Mr. Darcy! :)

    Great post!

  3. I love this! What a great idea to share a bit of yourself here that we otherwise wouldn’t know. My daughter completely loves “Gone With the Wind” too. She re-reads it every summer as well. I always wanted five kids. I took a breather between two and three and then said “no way” to any more!

  4. I saw someone else commented on Pride and Prejudice and it’s my all time favorite….the one with Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy:)
I have the DVD and whenever i’m feeling down and have some time to myself i make a cup of tea and watch. By the end, my attitude has changed and i’ m feeling upbeat again. My boys say, oh no, she’s watching P&P and they steer clear!

  5. Oh how fun! Firstly…LOVE the cowl. Thanks for sharing a bit about yourself :) I cannot remember how I stumbled upon your blog, but I return because I love your pretty creations, the tidbits about your kids, and the general positive energy:)
I’m just returning to reading blogs after losing ALL of my links on my macbook. Who knew how long it would take to add those all back?

  6. I found your blog surfing the tag for knitting in my dash.

    1. I’ve been wanting to “surprise” my husband with a tattoo for years! I haven’t done it yet. But I do want something on my shoulder. Just have to decide what….I think the boldest thing I did was to chop my hair down to 2 inches years ago. I think he has recovered from that well enough by now. ;)
    2. I have two children and always wanted three myself! And I wanted twins! Still, a total of three kids altogether though. Twins run in my family too. After the second kid though, I realized I might be biting off more than I could chew!! She’s adorable and I’m smitten. But she’s a handful!
    3. I’ve read Gone with the Wind and Scarlett-once each. I’ve seen both movies multiple times. Scarlett’s my She-ro. So headstrong. I love that!

Great blog and the cowl is beautiful!
