giving it a whirl

I know I’ve been MIA for a little while as my life catches up with me. There’s still so much going on even though all my shows are over, I’m still spinning.

Figuratively and literally.

First off, we’re having a birthday party for my baby this weekend. She officially turns one on December 16, but we’re having the party this weekend to beat the holiday madness. I’ve decided to make the cake myself this year. Crazy, I know, but I wanted to give it whirl even though I never baked a cake that had to look good before.

I’m using this recipe. I made a test cake last week. I’ll show you the final product next week after the party!

So add a little more wind to my whirlwind… I’m officially going back to work next week. Oh my! And I’m starting a new job to boot! Oh my, oh my! Do you see me spinning now?

Finally, I took a wheel for a test drive — literally. Last week I attended the One of a Kind Christmas Show with a girlfriend and I tried my hand at pottery throwing. I’ve always wanted to try this and this year they have studio demonstrations, so I decided it would be fun to try. Oh, and it was!

I may just have to take a pottery class one of these days! It was so much fun!
