tag!

I’ve been tagged by Small Burst in a photo story game.

The object of the game is to:
Go to the 8th folder in which you store your photos.
Select the 8th photo.
Post it to your blog and tell the story behind it.

Did you know that for Chinese, the number 8 is very lucky? It’s because in Chinese the pronunciation of “eight” sounds very similar to the pronunciation of the word “luck”. So, it’s very fitting that the 8th photo in my pictures folder was taken at the Chinese Lantern Festival at Ontario Place in Toronto in October 2006. There were hundreds of GIANT light installations depicting everything from Chinese culture and landmarks.

This photo was one of the 12 Chinese zodiac symbols — the monkey.

One of the things I absolutely love are Christmas lights, so this festival was such a delight because it was like Christmas lights magnified by 1000!

Thanks SB for tagging me! If you love food, home decor and photos, check out her blog. She’s got awesome taste, and she just finished her own kitchen renos, just like me!

So, now I’m supposed to tag 8 people to continue this game, but I just can’t pick, so I thought I’d leave it open to all of you, if you want to play. Just leave a comment with a link back to your photo selection so I can check it out and share your story! Have fun!

  1. aww thanks for playing along and for the kind words. I would love to attend a chinese lantern festival. I’m gonna check to see if there will be one near me. If it’s anything I imagine it to be, my kids will be all over it.
