at the library

her book selections

It’s been a little quiet here lately. I’ve been super busy since moving back home. I really wish there were more hours in the day to get everything I want to do done. But slowly and surely we’re starting to get back into the swing of things around here, and I can actually start to see the floor of our bedrooms now that the clothes, boxes, bags are being put back into place!

We did have a chance this week to check out our local library and I finally get to check off another item from the list#25 Get a library card!

Astonishingly, this is the first time I’ve been to a library since I was in school. I’m usually a new book kind-of girl. I love brand new books and seeing them on my bookcase. It’s silly, I know, but I love all the neat little rows of books and thumbing through them whenever I want. Some of my favourites, I read over and over again (that is, before I had kids and had all the time in the world!)

But, now that I made this important first step of going to a library and getting a card, and because we had such a good time, I will definitely be back! Especially with such wonderful little characters from some of my favourite children’s books waiting for us! (sorry for the fuzzy photo… library lighting not so great for picture taking…)

Hope you’re all enjoying your summer, too!

  1. I also like to have books of my own, but for books I will just read once, I go to the library. I am planning on taking my little one to the library soon, even though she doesn’t understand a thing. At this point, checking out books for her is more for me. I am tired of reading the same books over and over again.

  2. Our libraries in NYS sponsor summer reading programs and challenges. From when my kids were little, I made sure they participated. It was so much more than books — lots of arts and crafts, performances, movies. And the more they read, the more chances they had to win little weekly prizes. I miss those days. Enjoy your time at the library — hopefully, it’s an air conditioned paradise.

  3. I have always loved the library. It is so fun passing on that love to the little kiddos in our lives…:)
Have fun showing your kids the library, great memories for all of you!
