sisters

sisters

I feel very lucky to have two daughters, although I’m dreading the teen years… the drama, the boys, the expense — oh boy! I always wanted a sister growing up, so I hope my girls will be best friends.

L already adores her older sister. She follows K with her big eyes whenever she’s in the room. Every time K talks to her, she lights up. I treasure this.

I have visions of my girls snuggled under blankets in a makeshift bedsheet tent, telling each other stories and  whispering secrets. That was my fantasy. I hope that they will grow up loving each other and how lucky they are to be sisters…and periodically, I’ll remind them with shared photos and this blog, about how much they treasured each other!

  1. What a sweet post! :) I have three sisters, and three brothers! Sisters are much better at staying close to each other…:) I have three daughters,,,and I have enjoyed all of their sister moments, watching them grow and share.
And…you know the saying: A son is a son until he gets a wife. A daughter is a daughter the rest of her life! So, that is good for MOM & Dad too! :) (Of course there are always the exceptions to that saying, but in general women communicate easier).

  2. I have two brothers, but no sisters and I’ve always wondered what it would be like growing up with one. I would be super happy if I end up having two girls just like you and they grow up to be best friends. Your girls are CUTE.

  3. I think you’re doing a great job with both — I’m sure they’ll grow up with a strong bond. I’m like Joyce — two brothers, no sisters. I didn’t miss having a sister until recently. It would be nice having someone to share with at this stage.

  4. This is a photo you all will treasure…those sisters when they’re grown up will treasure it too. Sooo SWEET! My sister is my friend–I couldn’t be without her! I will be needing to take an unexpected break for a few days, so may be slow to be around. I will post about it tomorrow. Happy Week :o) ((HUGS))
