craft: art cards version II

more art cards

For a couple of upcoming birthdays this weekend I made these cards — a twist on my first art card using K’s artwork. This time I used a scallop punch to make pretty flowers out of the most interesting parts of the paintings, paired them with a few buttons and some simple embroidery, and viola!

I love this recycling of all the artwork that we have from K’s trips to playschool, play groups and random creating. There’s always so much that we can’t display everything. Simple and creative. Just the way I like it!

What’s your creative outlet today?

  1. These look wonderful….This is the second time I’ve seen embroidery on cards — I never would have thought to do that. And I love how you incorporate your little one’s artwork. Very clever. (And I have no creative outlet today — it’s all work, cleaning and driving children here and there. The weekend cannot begin soon enough!)

  2. I love your very cute cards! I bet it makes K feel great that you are using her art to make them! Great idea…perfect…:)

I am cross-stitching with two of my daughters while we watch rented dvd’s tonight! :)
