One tradition I have kept up since hubby and I spent our first Christmas together as a married couple, was the giving of holiday treats to friends and families. This year, the tradition is being shared with our daughter.
One of the best things about having some time off before baby’s arrival is spending this time with K. Normally I bake cookies, but since K was my helper this year, a no-cook option was in order.
A co-worker gave me this wonderful idea and we spent yesterday afternoon making these chocolate dipped, candy sprinkle-coated pretzel sticks. Super easy, too. K’s job was to roll the chocolate covered sticks in the candy and coconut pieces. Which she loved and proudly proclaimed “No mama, I do it myself,” when I tried to help her.
Following that success, we skewered sugar-coated holiday jube jubes and candy fruit slices. Again, a super easy treat but looks amazing arranged in a tin container.
These festive treats will be handed out with our Christmas cards to our family, friends and neighbours over the next couple of weeks.
