Easter came a little earlier this year to our house.
An egg hunt, egg decorating and Easter colouring action this weekend, with family.
How will you spend your Easter weekend?

Who’s ready for spring?!
I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be teaching two workshops at the charming Tea with Gladys art studio next month! This time, there’s a class for adults and a class for the little ones.
I can’t wait. I love Darcy’s shop – it’s the perfect combination of vintage charm, crafty goodness and utter cuteness! Stop by if you’re in the area (114 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, Ontario) and see for yourself! I guarantee you’ll leave with something you’ll love!
First knitting, now sewing, my girl is picking up new skills in arts and crafts, to my delight! We attended a fun lesson with the sweet Darcy at Tea with Gladys.
The girls made their very own darling little tote bags – on a sewing machine no less! Impressed? I certainly was. And I was delighted to see how simple it was that I even have the urge to haul out my mom’s machine again and have a go at it!
Afterwards, the girls had fun shopping and embellishing their creations with buttons and pins!
Since we were at home all weekend because of a little sick bug being passed around, it was the perfect opportunity to learn something new. Actually I’ve wanted to try this with K for a while now but never had the right time to introduce it to her. Until yesterday, trapped at home and recovering with two bored kiddos asking to watch TV yet again!
Finger knitting was so easy, I couldn’t believe that K picked it up within the first 15 minutes.
She’s now well on her way to finishing her very own (finger) knit scarf! Yippee! Can you sense my excitement?
We used this tutorial. It was so easy to follow.
This is how we make the most out of a sick day…
Spending the morning winding up skeins of yarn. Playing with fiber is the best kind of medicine, in my book!
Little L made me a gingerbread girl — very proud of her creation. And yes, don’t judge but we have a ton of Christmas crafts still lying around in the house and Easter is just around the corner!
One of the things that I love most about the artisan community is meeting so many wonderful and talent and ambitious people. Crafters and entrepreneurs – each one of the people I meet inspire and lift me up in different ways.
I met Darcy 3 years ago when she purchased a bow from me at a local craft show. Our paths crossed again when she was the art party director for my K’s 5th birthday party. And yet again last Christmas when we were both vendors at a show, where I learned she was stepping out on her own and opening up an artisan’s boutique and children’s art & tea party studio. How brave and thrilling, right?!
tea with gladys officially opened on Wednesday, carrying some knitted goodies, including my sweet bows that initially introduced us!
Go check her out @114 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville, Ontario. Her shop is filled with local and handmade items for adults and kids, a little bit of vintage, and a whole lot of sweet!
I knitted these darling little cupcakes for her because what’s tea without cupcakes, right?
