book worms
My girl and I have been visiting the library more often lately. We’re finding it a great outing on weekends during L’s nap time, to get out of the house, spend some quiet time together, and bring back some reading for bedtime. Reading at the end of the day is something I’ve been doing with the girls since they were born. Cuddled up in bed, reading aloud is a great, relaxing end to our busy days, I find. Continue reading
look inside my knitting bag
I’ve always enjoyed other blog posts who show the contents of their purse or wallets or other personal carry-alls. It’s so interesting to me to see what others carry in their bags and compare. Are you the same? Continue reading
in my basket: pink + warm + fuzzy
One of our stops yesterday included the yarn shop, Romni Wools where I picked up a skein of pink wool (Cascade 220 – can’t go wrong with this stuff) + two skeins of Rowan kid silk mohair. I cast on this morning for a pair of legwarmers, this time for the girls’ little cousin. Continue reading
fo: black & white cowl
I am declaring this my new favourite cowl! Continue reading
fo: his mitts

a taste of friday
An evening spent tonight at The Purple Purl for another wonderful yarn tasting event by knitty.com. I love joining in on these nights when I can. Continue reading
his photos
Hubby has been taking a photography class one night per week for the past few weeks. Last week his class hit Kensington Market for an outing. Pretty cool if you ask me, but I’m a little biased. My favourite of his shots is the last one. Continue reading

A couple of goodies came in the mail this week, in the form of wooly goodness. Continue reading
fo: cable neckwarmer
Made for my mom for her birthday, which I’m gifting to her today. I’ve always loved the look of cable-knit sweaters, but for some reason, never attempted to knit anything with cables. I’m not exactly sure why. Probably because it looked daunting and complicated but in reality, it was super easy! I finished this in just 2 nights! My first cable-knit was a huge success!
