Almost 2 years ago I wrote out this pattern and shared it online. Today there are over 300 projects knit from this design and I’m a little blown away.
I’m amazed that someone else felt inspired to create something that I put together. It’s very humbling and thrilling at the same time. And when I looked through the photos and read some of the blogs that others have written about my simple pattern, I’m in awe of the diverse talent of knitters around the globe, and variations and adaptations that I’ve seen.
:: like this one by Nutso, who adapted it for a child and added a pom-pom. I love this and will be making this for my girls in pink this winter!
:: this one by Smalltownjen, who knitted a manly version for her hubby (twice) and plans to knit one each year for him. I love that!
:: this one by DDPGirl001, which is perfect in soft pink!
:: and this one by Kaskadia in a two-colour honey-bee style which I think is absolutely stunning!
Such diversity and creativity that can evolve out of one starting point. Amazing.
An honest Thank You to all the knitters who tried this pattern and made it their own. This is why I love handmade.
